Beaches of Northumberland.

An area of outstanding natural beauty the beaches of Northumberland vary from beautiful golden sands to rugged cliff tops. There are castles and fishing ports, plenty to see and do.

Alnmouth bay and beach. A few miles east of Alnwick the bay at Alnmouth lies alongside the small golf course. There is easy access and good parking with a feeling of intimacy and containment.

Bamburgh beach. The opposite of Alnmouth this is a long wide open sandy beach. Strong winds and views over the Farne Islands. Great for long walks with the dog. Plenty of sport here from surfing to kite flying and horse riding.

Druridge bay. Another open sandy beach with a good reputation as a bird sanctuary.

Goswick sands. Open and sandy alongside Holy Island.
